Why Get Married?
Why Get Married at All?
Divorce rates remain high, marriage rates keep falling, and young adults are asking hard questions about whether tying the knot is even worth it. Our culture offers two competing answers: the traditional view (marriage as duty for the family or community) and the modern view (marriage as a path to personal fulfillment). Both have cracks.
This article explores a third way—marriage as covenant. More than a contract or a romance, covenant is a public promise to love faithfully through change and hardship. Drawing on Scripture, research, and real-life examples, we look at how covenant gives marriage depth, resilience, and a purpose beyond happiness alone.

To Entertained to Believe Part 3: Ancient Warnings, Modern Weapons
There’s an ancient book—mostly forgotten except by those who’ve wandered deep into Bible commentaries—called the Book of Enoch. In it, fallen angels give humanity forbidden knowledge: warfare, astrology, even technology. Yes, technology. A gift from demons. Make of that what you will.
Maybe the ancients were onto something.
We were promised connection, but we got isolation. We sought entertainment, but we became addicts. And now we are fighting a neurochemical war with theological scalpels. This isn’t just about ideas anymore. It’s about appetite.
If we’re going to resist the spell of poppies and pixels, we’ll need more than good arguments. We’ll need stillness. Presence. The power of the Spirit. This is how we wake up in an age of distraction—not with noise, but with embodied, interruptive grace.

Too Entertained to Believe Part 2
Long before COVID, our culture was already sedating itself with screens. Then the pandemic cut the brake lines. Trapped at home, we didn’t reach for alcohol or opioids—we reached for apps. Reels, filters, and endless notifications became our escape, numbing us into spiritual sleep. In a world drowning in distraction, the call to Christ-followers is urgent and clear: if we are to wake others, we must first wake up ourselves.

Too Entertained to Believe Part 1
Christians are no longer engaged in the same cultural battles that defined previous generations. A seismic shift has taken place. We are not confronting the logical frameworks of rationalism, the moral ambiguity of relativism, or even the mystical idealism of the Woodstock era. The battlefield has changed. We are no longer in a war of ideas; we are in a war of neurochemistry.

What is a Christian?
Does a general belief in God count as saving faith? No, it doesn't. Jesus said, "the demons believe there is one God, and they tremble" (James 2:19). A cognitive decision that there is a God cannot save you. The demons believed and were trembling! Just admitting that God exists would not constitute a saving faith any more than conceding that your belief that bears exist would save you if you got in a fight with one.
